I’m a 45 year old libra who grew up in Northern California but rooted into the puget sound region 25 years ago and this is my home. I love to learn about the trees, plants, birds, and critters that share this land with us and am equal parts inside kid/outdoor kid. I journal and go on a walk every single day. I like to laugh and shared humor is an important compatibility point for me. I’m a leftist and a repro health nerd and a justice minded loud mouth, but also a little quiet, a little shy around new people. I say earnest shit and I cry a lot, cause I’m just tender.

56-yr-old now and finding socializing gets harder every year, especially open-forum small talk venues are now just so tiring! Appreciate the opportunity to connect with some structure and moderation. Have changed so much over the last decade, I’m still getting used to the new way I’m showing up in the world: shifted away from so much focus on work and professional development, moved from married with children to single/solo, life of the party, music performer, social butterfly focused on being out in the world to mostly quiet and reclusive and on my own, making colorful things with my hands, shifted from office to home/remote, touring choirs to ukulele in my living room, generally healthy to chronically ill, and deeply grieving the state of the world so driven to find inspiration from within more than without these days. Engaged in a quiet slow-motion battle with cynicism and nihilism. Seeking meaning and purpose, community and connection, ease, pleasure, laughter, and play.

I'm in my mid 30s and have lived almost my entire life in WA. I moved briefly, hated it, and came back. I'm chronically ill and have been since I was a teenager; this impacts my life a good amount. I love learning about science and technology. I also love anything to do with stories, whether that's reading, watching tv shows and movies, listening to fictional podcasts, or playing video games. I'm a Taurus and while I don't fully believe in astrology, I relate a lot to the attributes of the sign. I'm shy around new people, but once I start getting to know people I'm good. Or if I know at least one person it's easier for me to meet new people. I'm a progressive leftist (aka more liberal than our typical Democrats) and have been voting and messaging my reps since I was 18, advocating for a better life for everyone. Even when one of my reps was a Republican and didn't give a shit as to what I had to say, I still continued to message him my thoughts about what he was doing and should be doing lol. When I was hanging out one time with 4 friends we decided to each give one adjective to describe each person in the group. My adjectives were sincere, spicy, inquisitive, and caring. I enjoy trying new food, especially finding places with outdoor dining! I'm a realist with hope bubbling just beneath the surface, which I know doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I see the world as to how it is, but there's still a part of me that hopes things will improve. I try my best to do what I can where I can to make things in the world at least a little better.

I’m a 40yr old Pakistani-Irish Appalachian FemmeDyke raised in middle Tennessee who found Home in the PNW by way of Colorado 3.5yrs ago. Polyam, nested, spaciously dating.

12th house Pisces stellium witch, Aries rising sweetheart. I’m a nurse by nature and by trade for ~20yrs, primarily working privately by word of mouth in Covid Cautious community now. I delight in every cat I’ve ever laid eyes on and love all critters. I have a big heart for Grief & grievers, for the unknowns and forevers we face after loss. To balance the heft, I adore whimsy & levity that can walk alongside the weightiness of existence. Fantasy fiction as preferred genre for brain breaks & enjoyment. I’m my best Self when growing things and will be winter growing indoors for the first time this season. I love glitter arts & crafts, affectionate friends I can cackle with, steaming hot tea and surprising myself

I'm a 43 year old game designer who group up just outside of Washington DC and came to Seattle 15 years ago after shorter stays in England and Pittsburgh. I love creative endeavors of all kinds and really put the 'master of none' into 'jack of all trades.' In addition to game development I also spend time drawing, run a ton of TTRPG's, do some photography, cook, kayak with my partner, and take care of our lovely cat Troll. I had another cat (Pooka) who was my desk-friend and constant companion, but she passed away from cancer a year ago and I miss her constantly. I'm deeply socialist and anti-fascist and frankly just sort of collapsing under the stress of the world at the moment and looking for ways that I can be more helpful.

Reid

Somehow my parents gave me the middle name Reid and expected me to not be queer or trans. As I write this, my shin and wrist hurt and I can see my perfect cat, Simon, slow blinking at me from his sun spot. Last night my friend posted a video of themself dancing with a puppet and I got real sad that we'll never go to a queer club together the way I used to before the pandemic. So, my grief sits just below my eyes but so does my unwavering sparkle of golden retriever hope and desire for genuine connection. Double scorpio. Polyamorous. Anti-fascist. Forever unlearning and working against white supremacy. I want to play music with you (when my wrist heals).

Laura

I'm a 44-year-old non-binary neurodivergent named Laura. I live with my wonderful partner Stephen (pronounced “Steven”) and cat Troll (named for a type of faerie in the tabletop role-playing game Changeling: The Dreaming). Before moving to Seattle fourteen years ago, I lived in Chicagoland, Virginia, the United Kingdom, and Pittsburgh. I love being outdoors and I love to move. Sometimes I go to the Mercury (goth club) on slow nights in my N95 just to dance solo and feel connected to myself. I play logic puzzles on gridgames.app on a regular basis to relax, and I recently bought a wetsuit (secondhand) so I can go open-water swimming year-round. I'm more of an animal person than a people person, but people are animals, so sometimes it works out. I own a PlusLife device. I miss karaoke.

jo

i’m jo. 39 yr old queer, femme. i like to express myself through poetry, collage, and zine making. i’m really appreciative of a charged pair of earbuds and good coffee. i don’t know if i like the library or the woods better. its really important that i have some time outside everyday, its part of my routine. reading has been a big part of my life since i was a child and i love to share book recommendations.

Jae

I'm weird but in a harmless way. I'm passionate about plants, birds, intersectional justice, mushrooms and all things cute. I have too much grief to manage about climate change, fascism and just all the other bs that we are swimming in right now. I counteract this with ethical hedonism and that seems to work about as well as anything. I'm agender, bi, and poly.

August

Assigned Utah at birth converted to radical leftism. Reluctantly extroverted after over a decade in Seattle and having not stumbled into the adult friend group that I was promised by the TV show "FRIENDS". Recovering from my Outdoorsy-as-personality phase but still eager to be outside whenever possible. I'm trying to decide if I'm going to indulge the 16yo in me who dreamed of riding a motorcycle now that I'm twice that age...or if I should just stick to riding my bicycle a little too aggro. Life these days feels like a balancing act between materializing the adventures I dreamed of when I was younger and finding the stability that I really needed then and desperately long for now...in the interim I'm fueled by crafting and little treats.

I just turned 29 in September, and I've been spending time reflecting on the last year of my 20's, creating a list of "29 Things To Do" before 30. It's a work-in-progress, and I'm interchanging between 29 things or 7 depending on how it tangible it would be (e.g., trying 29 new foods, getting 7 tattoos, etc.). In reflecting, I can't help but think about all in the recent years I lost—so many other young people lost—to covid. Long covid stripped me of my spirit and abilities, but as my symptoms have improved, I've regained myself and have even come to let myself love what I do, and do it deeply. I love learning about the nature's act of reciprocity, looking for Lady Bugs and Gingkos to text photos of to my sibling, walking more and more everyday, and expressing myself through fashion, hair, nails—recently coming to make green hair my personality. I love old Shoujo series (Ouran High School, Kimi Ni Todoke, and the like), and playing games close to my heart like the Legend of Zelda (I'm so excited for the OOT remake!!). My days are spent at home mostly with my dear partner, our 18-year-old Mainecoon, and 6-year-old Corgi. I'm a social ambivert, that also likes listening to others talk. Right now, I have Bleachers, Bon Iver, and Death Cab on repeat as the leaves change.

I like going into rabbit holes like animal behavior, anything related to dogs, tidepooling (with an emphasis on nudibranchs), figuring out what kind of birb that is, and turning my home office into my own little jungle. I just saw a ruby crowned kinglet out my office window and I'm going to be excited about that all fucking day. I like doing outdoor stuff like cycling and hiking and volunteering for leftist causes that I care about to the extent that my long covid allows. I enjoy listening to fantasy books because my very sensitive brain and soul often need a break from this dystopian hellscape. I even found an at-home fantasy-themed workout program if anyone wants to join my squad (there's no way someone can convince me to run a mile or do burpees unless it involves dragons or elves or something). I cope with things with humor.
